[ WHO I AM ]
I run the project, and I build the thing at the end of it.
I co-founded a design studio in Lucknow and spent three years shipping apps, stores and dashboards for businesses across five countries. Somewhere in there I stopped enjoying only the design part. What I liked was holding the plan: deciding what got built, arguing for cutting things, and being the person who had to say out loud when two of the things we wanted could not both be true.
So I am doing an MBA at the University of Hertfordshire and moving to the UK, with a thirty week industry placement in the second year. My elective is Project Management Methodologies, because the part of the job I want more of is the part that is already my favourite. I am looking for the kind of role where the plan and the product decisions sit with the same person.
The technical side came the same way. I set up the CMSs, the integrations, the automations and the email that sit behind the things I ship, because on a small team the person who plans it is often the person who has to make it work. Outside that I run an editorial photo series about design terms, and I keep a library of components in the Framer community.

[ 01 ] Scope and agree
I turn the brief into a numbered list of decisions, each with an owner and a date against it, and I get it agreed in writing before anything is drawn.
[ 02 ] Plan and sequence
I break the work down, put it in order and name the risks early. Where people struggle is usually where the design starts.
[ 03 ] Design and build
I draw it, prototype it and then build what I can myself, so what ships is the thing we agreed rather than an interpretation of it.
[ 04 ] Ship and report
I ship to the date, then write one update a week: shipped, next, need from you, at risk. The team can carry it on without me in the room, which is the point.
What I'm looking for.
A delivery role where the plan and the product decisions sit with the same person. Project manager, product manager or a hybrid of the two, in a team small enough that the person holding the plan is also close to the work.
